Success of individuals/teams in the field of science and research (awards)

In 2009, Prof. Jindřich Štreit, a member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Education UP, delivered a significant lecture with the annual lecture Status, and this lecture was a tribute to the first rector of the renewed university in Olomouc in 1994, Prof. PhDr. Josef Ludvík Fischer. It is implemented as a display of appreciation of this personality’s importance in the history of Palacky University in Olomouc.

In 2009, the faculty personnel also cooperated in projects acquiring major awards, i.e. the Czech Science Foundation’s Presidium at its conference on 09 April 2009 discussed the proposals of the Foundation’s departmental committees on awarding the Czech Science Foundation Chairman’s award for results of projects, completed in 2008, and decided to award a project from the Faculty of Natural Sciences Palacky University in Olomouc: “Neoteny and speciation in Elatoroidea (Coleoptera)”, the co-researcher of which is the Head of the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Education UP, doc. Ing. Milada Bocáková, PhD. In 2010, a student of the Doctoral study programme in Special Education Mgr. Alena Říhová acquired the “Award by the UP Rector for the best scientific or artistic work of students from Bachelor and Master’s programmes of study”, and doc. MgA. Mgr. Vít Zouhar, PhD, from the Department of Music Education, acquired one of the Certificates of Recognition, awarded by the Rector of UP in Olomouc to authors of monographs or extraordinary publishing achievements for 2009, and the Alfréd Radok Award for 2009 in the category of Music. In 2009, the project E-safety won third place in the national round of European Crime Prevention Award, awarded by the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic.
