Prevention of social negative phenomenon in education

of children with special needs

In my thesis I am focused on the area of primary prevention of social negative phenomenon such as racism and intolerance, drug and alcohol addiction, delinquency, violence, gambling etc.  

I have been interested in the sphere of social negative phenomenon for about five years and I have already some experience with using preventive programmes and I myself create some programs for small children.

School is the only social environment that allows us to communicate with all children and teen-agers. From this point of view teachers have a great oppportunity to influence children in the right way. They are asking themselves following question very often: What is the best way to insure children before "temptation" that can seriously hurt them? Ambition of my dissertation is creation of material for simplification conceptual suggestion for implementation of preventive programmes and not only an effort to discover the answer to this question. Fundamental chapters describe the particular factors of questions connected with prevention of social negative phenomenon. Practical part of my thesis is set on analyses of exercitation of preventive strategies at school for special needs children. Practical goal of my thesis will be a list of proposals of preventive activities, which are suitable for children with special needs attending primary school.

I would like to open my presentation by a brief introduction to the sphere of social negative phenomenon and prevention as well. I find important to make basic notion clear:

-         Social negative phenomenon

-         Prevention

-         Special need

-         Preventive programme

 

After explaining these I would like to speak about results of research at school for children with watch impairement. At the end I will describe one part of preventive programme that I create.
