Special clases in elementary schools
as a journey of inclusion the handicapped children
My dissertation consists of two parts. The theoretical part is about the children with special needs their life, their families and their education. It is about their journey of inclusion to the “normal “ society. The practical part consists of a research in special classes at elementary schools.
I already started to
write the theoretical part of my dissertation paper. I am going to write the
practical part within the next year, that is why I will concentrate on the
theoretical part of my work only.
First I am going
to define the term of inclusion and it’s importance to us? Inclusion
is the act of engaging people with disabilities in all our daily activities -
at school, at work, at home and in the community.
People with disabilities are our nation's largest minority. More than 1 800 000 men, women and children of all ages, economic levels and religious affiliations have some kind of disability. People with disabilities have the same rights and abilities as others to live their lives fully. However, all too often, having a disability means being excluded from different opportunities such as to work, to study, to play with others and much more.
In my dissertation paper
the group of children with special needs is being emphasized. The school
surroundings should have educational influence on children with
disabilities. The basic
philosophy of the calss inclusion is: „Children that learn together, learn to
live together“
The theoretical part of
my dissertation consists of four chapters. The first chapter is called: „Children
with special needs“. This chapter is about opportunities how to develop
education, friendschip and stilmulating enviroment for growing up and learning.
The second chapter’s name is „General education“ and it is about how to
learn to appreciate everyones uniqueness and abilities. Third chapter’s name is
„Teachers“ and it is about techniques that help and develop inclusion.
The last chapter’s name is „Society“ and it is about the supportment
of equality of the social value. At
the end there are some instructions about educating the students, teachers and
parents for inclusion.
